Warre's Otima is a range of aged tawny ports. The 10 Year Old is light and delicate with notes of toffee, honey and dried fruit and is best served slightly chilled.
Aleatico, a very old grape variety and also the name of a traditional Tuscan sweet dessert wine, develops a unique varietal expression in this area that stands out for its strong identity and soft, balanced palate. Part of the harvest is vinified immediately while the other part is left to air dry to concentrate aromas. The result is a pleasant expression of freshness and structure while preserving the richness of the variety’s typical floral and spicy aromas.
A very fine Port to be savoured in a reasonable sized glass so that the aromas and colour can be appreciated. Honey and caramel accented by nutty notes. Vibrant and sweet with delicate structure.
This Port is then matured in bottle for at least another 4 years. This prolonged bottle ageing is crucial to the development of the superb “nose” and flavour which lend this Port a style and complexity very much akin to that of Vintage Port. Warre’s LBV is generally acknowledged to be the finest of its type.
