The vineyards of Garnacha planted on soils of slate -llicorella-, Cariñena vineyards grow on clay soils and Syrah vineyards located on limestone soils to obtain this complex wine after 12 months of maturing in French oak barrels.
The wines are from an extensive vineyard in the Vilariça Valley in the Douro Superior region. Rich in tannins and with spice, it has black fruits that are now ready to drink.
The wine comes from an Alentejo estate acquired by the Douro's Symington family in 2017. It is a powerfully structured wine. The tannins and the rich black fruits are laced with refreshing acidity, a sign of the estate's 1,500-foot altitude.
Each individual parcel was vinified separately, and remained so until the final wine was assembled. Maturation in a selection of seasoned French oak hogsheads for fifteen months provides a softness and elegance to the silky palate.
